Merhaba,
Cevap icin tesekkurler. Xorg.conf dosyasinda "/usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1" satiri var. Sistemin yerel ayarlarini "tr_TR:UTF-8" olarak duzenledim. Fakat kullandigim bazi programlar hala iso8859-x kodlamasini ve type1 fontlarini kullaniyorlar ve type1 fontlarini iso8859-9 kodlamasini anlayacak uzere yeniden uretmem gerekiyor. 


Bunun icin "Turkce Nasil" ve "Debian Turkce" belgelerine gore duzenlemeleri 
yaptim.

Asagidaki komutlari girince,

# update-fonts-scale Type1
# update-fonts-alias Type1
# update-fonts-dir Type1
--------------------<---------------------------------------
warning: /usr/lib/X11/fonts/Type1 does not exist or is not a directory

hatasini verdi. Bu sefer su komutu girdim:
------------------------->---------------------------
#update-fonts-scale  /usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1
-------------------------<----------------------------
warning: absolute path /usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1 was provided
hatasinin aldim.

Kisaca update-fonts-scale komutu yeni dizinler icin ise yaramiyor.
Baska ne yontem kullanabilirim?

Yazıtipleri için kullanılan klasörler değişti. xorg.conf dosyasında
yazıtipleri için girilen klasörleri değiştirmeniz
gerekiyor /usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1 gibi olmalı
