Here's what just a second ago fixed it for me: Run as root: cdparanoia -vsQ This will show you the device settings, something like: # cdparanoia -vsQ cdparanoia III release 9.8 (March 23, 2001) (C) 2001 Monty <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and Xiphophorus Report bugs to [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.xiph.org/paranoia/ Checking /dev/cdrom for cdrom... Testing /dev/cdrom for cooked ioctl() interface /dev/scd0 is not a cooked ioctl CDROM. Testing /dev/cdrom for SCSI interface generic device: /dev/sg3 ioctl device: /dev/scd0 Now make sure you have permissions set correctly on all devices shown. It turns out that device numbes are a little unintuitive ;-) -- Embedded Linux -- True multitasking!
