Does it /etc/lilo.conf have the correct root= line?
Does the kernel have IDE drivers (not as a module)? ("306" above is
/dev/hda6 I think)
Does the kernel have ext3 drivers (not as a module)?
You can read the ".config" file for the kernel to find out, but it's a
little cryptic.
Uhm, that's probably not everything.
