Yes, I am using CUPS. I installed cupsys-bsd right from the start.
As I said in the original post, this seems to be a problem with piping, not with lpr. I can print using 'lpr filename', but can not do 'ls | lpr'. I can print from kate, but not from my homegrown editor written in Python which pipes the text to lpr. All of these methods worked up untill a few days ago. Now, almopst nothing works.
