Hi Alvin, you've provided a lot of help so far, but now for perhaps the first question I should have asked - what ntp package should I run? Eg. given: $ apt-cache search ntp|grep ntp|sort chntpw - NT SAM password recovery utility libapache-mod-frontpage-mirfak - Frontpage support for apache libnews-nntpclient-perl - News::NNTPClient, Perl support for accessing NNTP servers nntp - A NNTP server for use with C News ntp - Network Time Protocol: network utilities ntp-doc - Network Time Protocol: documentation ntp-refclock - Network Time Protocol: daemon for reference clocks ntp-server - Network Time Protocol: common server tools ntp-simple - Network Time Protocol: daemon for simple systems ntpdate - The ntpdate client for setting system time from NTP servers op-formatter-fb - Filesystem formatter and mountpoint application for Opie op-sh-diskfree - frontend to df (show space left on mountpoints) phpgroupware-nntp - phpGroupWare newsgroup reader module radioclk - simple ntp refclock daemon for MSF/WWVB/DCF77 time signals I see no "xntp". And from your clarification of what's happening in cron, it looks like I should be running a different package. And again: $ apt-cache show ntp-server|grep epends Depends: ntp-simple | ntp-refclock, ntp tia zen -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
