Hi! Thanks for all those replies! I had checked Google infact, but although I found a lot of pages linking to other pages that supposedly contained a list of linux compatible internal PCI modems, all those links turned out to be dead. Finally I did stumble upon a SuSE hardware database (that link too was dead, but I went to the SuSE site and searched there) ... but too didn't really get much results.
Yup, had checked Linmodems and tried to get my existing modem to work with Linux. Its one of those ESS chipset modems, and seems there was a way to make it work way back in the 2.2 kernel series, but nowadays it doesn't work and is not supported anymore. Which is why I decided I am better off buying a new modem ... Now I'll try to find a serial modem as per the list's suggestions. :) Thanks, Rakhesh -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
