Using XFS, and kernel 2.6.8. In the past two weeks I noticed that my PC load shoots up on anything that needs disk activity. The CPU's are quiet during all this:
top - 17:04:09 up 6:07, 3 users, load average: 2.25, 1.88, 1.37 Cpu0 : 10.3% us, 4.0% sy, 0.0% ni, 76.3% id, 8.7% wa, 0.7% hi, 0.0% Cpu1 : 11.3% us, 3.3% sy, 0.0% ni, 70.4% id, 15.0% wa, 0.0% hi, 0.0% It gets so bad that the mouse starts jerking! Does anyone have some advice on where to start looking for optimizing?
