I recently installed woody on a server and did all security updates. Works fine, except for a few packages not included (eg. usermin). I'm just using it as a mail/web/print server. Wouldn't use it as desktop.
Easy network configuration the debian way:
# apt-get install etherconf
# dpkg-reconfigure etherconf
