I just installed my Asus L3C laptop from sarge rc2 business-cd installer.

I was going to check for apm/acpi support and by looking at /boot/config-2.4.27-1-686 file it seems to be already compiled in the kernel.... so... do I need to use "acpi=on" on something like that in grub for acpi to work?
I have no /proc/acpi, so the kernel seems not to be loading the acpi stuff.

Answering to myself: I needed to put "acpi=on" in grub kernel configuration to activate the acpi kernel support (wich then provides me a /proc/acpi )

Strange... Maybe everyone is switching to 2.6.x and these things go unnotisted... I had searhed the mailing lists with no result...

Well, I hope this still helps someone! Joao Clemente
