Hi, IIRC someone was asking about fetchmail and mutt and so forth recently, and someone else talking about mutt's imap support (I think). I recently discovered "offlineimap", and I recommend this program for anyone who uses an IMAP mail service (I use FastMail.FM, they provide good free IMAP accounts). Using mutt directly with IMAP is a real drag, this program makes it nice and fast as all the mail is mirrored locally. Finally I have my mail set up sanely!
The only thing offlineimap doesn't do AFAICS is use the imap "poll" command to watch for new email. I might try to add that feature, so I can get instant delivery happening going again.
