Hi, yesterday I upgraded most of the kde related packages from sarge to sid (want to use kmail 3.3 S/MIME features). The transition was fairly smooth except that the system freezes (mouse pointer freezes, sound stops suddenly, system not responsive to key presses) when I leave a kde session, so I have to press the reset button. This happens as non-privileged user as well as for root. When I issue a "(sudo) /sbin/halt" from a konsole window, everything works as expected; I can also stop the kde session smoothly by issuiung "/etc/init.d/kdm restart" from a virtual console.
I scanned the BTS but found nothing appropriate. Any idea about what is going on? How can I narrow down the problem? As far as I can see ".xsession" gives no hints, a least what remains from that file after the fsck on reboot.
