Precicely. I don't really see what the problem is - a 64x64 icon is still 64x64 even if the monitor's aspect ratio is different. I spent a lot of time trying to work out why fonts looked rubbish once and it was because I'd inadvertently set the resolution to 1280x960 instead of 1280x1024 - my TFT doesn't handle non-native resolutions so well.
