Okay! I dropped it on top of a working (sans DRI) Sarge/Sid XFree86, getting the xserver-xorg package from a link at apt-get.org. It did not go smoothly, but eventually I got an X server that says "Direct rendering enabled" in the Xorg.log. Yay! But running glxinfo says "direct rendering: No", and glxgears says "failed to open DRM: Operation not permitted". It doesn't say why. Running glxinfo as root tells a different story- says "direct rendering: Yes" but running glxgears locks up the computer. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
