Hi, Since no one has answered your question, I thought I would give it a shot. To get KDE to run things on start up. you should put them in ~/.kde/Autostart/ (or something like it) so if you have a shell script like: #/bin/sh jackd #or whatever the jack daemon is called it then should run on startup of kde. For course, if artsd starts before your script runs, then you would have to kill it and start it again.
