an update to my saga is that i was able to run lilo. however, when trying to boot, i see:
request_module{block-major-3]: root fs not mounted VFS: Cannot open root device "303" or 03:03 Please append correct "root=" boot option Kernel Panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 03:03 my root= option is set to /dev/hda3 which is the root partition. suggestions?
