Hi there. Saw this message and thought I would give an example using my
own setup for this.
I have directories set up in my user directories called public_html.
The users on my system can FTP into my Debian box and upload their
websites there. So the URL to their pages would be
http://bufonline.dyndns.org:83/~username/ However, in order to make
this work I had to set the permissions on the public_html folder to
username.staff. Once I did that the directories were made available to
the world to let my users' websites be seen.
Hmm. Strange because my users aren't in 'staff' group (when i go
'groups'). Is it some sort of default?
