I thought only root could add entries to the arp table? in fact, i just tried setting an arp entry as 'cas' and got: SIOCSARP: Operation not permitted which is exactly what should happen unless pppd is run with sudo or run setuid root. ditto with routes. only uid root can set routes. Craig
