[description of Monitor and graphics card deleted] : Anyone have any suggestions? Yes. The blank signal after the horizontal sync may be to short for your monitor. You have to edit the file /etc/X11/XF86Config. Increase the fifth number of the modeline by about 32. (You can experiment which value yields the best result.) An example: Assume the modeline in question looks like this: Modeline "800x600" 70 800 876 1020 1164 600 600 618 625 +hsync +vsync then increase this number ------------------>^^^^ Alternatively it may be sufficient to shift the image to the right by using the control elements of your monitor.
