-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello list, I am looking for recommendations for software to backup my debian (sarge) machine to my cd burner. As this is my home machine, I don't think I need the client-server functionality of amanda or some of the other backup packages... I'm just looking for something that can do full and incremental backups of selected filesystems to CD in a quick and simple manner. ---- I have used cdbackup/cdrestore debs with no problems either backing up or restoring. I've had problems with the cddump utility used, but only because of the long path/filenames that Microsoft Internet Explorer uses to save cookies when using roaming profiles with samba. I now use a DLT and just use tar. Much quicker and easier. If you are the sysadmin of a large network - go the tape. CD-RW's are only practical for home/small business use. Andrew ---- Thanks for your help!
