It's not a big deal. We had some argument about what belonged in the release, and as a consequence I decided that I need to retain control of the release as project leader. People were undiplomatic on e-mail, feelings got hurt and toes stepped on, the usual net stuff. I try to avoid having that sort of thing happen to Debian, but this time I messed up. Mea culpa. Now it's time to go on with our lives and the project. How long you hold off on the 1.2 upgrade depends on whether you have un-trusted users on your system or not, and whether you run X on that system. If you do, don't upgrade it until the XFree86 3.2 stuff has made its way out to the mirror site you are using. The rest of 1.2 is in _fine_ shape. Lots of people are running it and say it is solid. Another thing that might keep you from upgrading is that ftp.debian.org seems to have lost "frozen" this evening. It is still available on debian.crosslink.net . I asked the ftp.debian.org system manager to look into the problem. Thanks Bruce -- Bruce Perens K6BP [EMAIL PROTECTED] Finger [EMAIL PROTECTED] for PGP public key.
