Pete, I think we de-supported term a while back. I think it was after SlIRP (the SLIP emulator) came out. The point was that a large number of applications had to be term-ified, and if you used SlIRP instead, your system just acted as if it had a slip connection and nothing on your side had to change.
I'm not aware of how to find the server-side version of SlIRP, but if you can't find it I'm sure someone on debian-user will help.
