i temporarily 'solved' the problem by adding the option -nocpp to xrdb in Xsession. But of course, now i can't use any macro's :-(. So i still welcome all help. thx.
Jan ----------------------------------------------------------------- as a X newbee, i experimented with Xresources and succeeded setting my preferences. Everthing was ok for a few days. Today i downloaded pcmcia, booted linux, compiled pcmcia, and started X. from then my Xresources isnt anymore read correctly. xrdb gives the following error in .xsession-errors.
