I have a quick question that I'm embarassed to ask. How do you properly shutdown? A few days ago I could shutdown completely with no problem. After installed PPP, XWindows, and a few other odds and ends, shutdown doesn't complete shutting down. It stops at "Enter root password for maintenance or Control-D for restart", or something like that. Sometimes I can get it to tell me that there are no more processes left to kill on this run level. I know I must be doing something wrong. Can someone please help me?
