The new release (on CD) will take a while, to come out. As far as I know, a code freeze isn`t scheduled yet. After a freeze it will take at least 4 weeks for debugging, + four weeks of generating the Official CD images an distribution. (Infos from Christian Leutloff, who translated the installation manual for a german CD release). As the so called unstable matures more and more, you might want to consider upgrading...
