Does it "Loading......" then reboot? This happens to me sometimes too, system also runs NT perfectly. I don't know what the fix is, but I seem to have a reliable combination now. Strangely enough, try looking through all the help at the syslinux prompt -- not to find anything, just for some activity. This is not scientifically proven, but sometimes I find that it works after that -- wasting some time at the prompt. It works for me with LILO anyway.
