It may well be faster for your S3Virge but I have a ATI Mach 64 Graphics Expression (which XFree86 Supports) but I find MetroX faster, I am also upgrading my video card to a Matrox Millenium II 8Mb, and I have been told that the MetroX drive is alote better that the XFree86 one.
