During leafnode's "fetch" nntp connections there have been attempts (unsuccessful) to telnet into my machine. My machine dials in to an isp using "pppd" (dynamic address allocation) and "ip-up": "runq", "getpop3", "fetch" and disconnects. Sometimes "fetch" stays connected for as much as 1 hour and more.
Newserver is 142.77.1.190, "nntp.uunet.ca"; I am connecting using "news.klis.com". "/etc/hosts.deny" is "ALL: PARANOID"; "/etc/hosts.allow" is null. The latest attempt was logged as from "1Cust43.tnt2.tco2.da.uu.net". A part of another machine name was "alvirus". I don't know if I should pay any attention to this. -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] Jack Kern Yarmouth, Nova Scotia Debian GNU/Linux i386 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
