Yeeehaa! I tried the JDK 1.1.5v7 on Debian 1.1 and javac actually executed out of the box, with no configuration! Maybe that sounds like no big deal, but I count that as an enormous victory after fumbling around with 1.1.5v5 for quite a while. I'll report back after more testing if there's any wierdness or anything.
