I have a 56k/x2 modem which is recognized on a w95 system as com2 port 0x2f8 irq 3 , This port does not apper in the dmesg output. setserial report for ttyS1 shows : uart unknown. I would like to use minicom (or an equivalent ) to echo to the console screen values stored in the internal register of the modem; but after start and initialization of minicom there is no feedback from the system.
