Does anyone knows what I am doing wrong? I am using hamm beta2 > (my cheapbytes cd's haven't arrived yet :-) ). On one system exhibiting this failure, I found that I coudl give the three-fingered salute between failure & restart, so at least my filesystems were handled directly. All I can suggest is to make sure that you're using matching versions of xserver* and xbase, and to use the XF86Setup utility that comnes as part of the vga16 server package. rick -- These opinions will not be those of ISU until it pays my retainer.
