OK, i'm back to trying to get this little beast to ppp into the one on my desk. Both are stock hamm systems.
The catch is that I have to dial into a university modem pool, give an intial choice of where to go, log into it, give another command to make the connection 8 bit clean, specify my own machine as the host, and only then do I get a login prompt. The loginid and password are correct; they're the same ones it uses to login. what can possibly be going wrong here? and why is the password nakedly displayed like that in the log? rick
