I'm trying to get proftpd working and having no success so far. The damn thing refuses to allow logins. The ftp connection goes fine, but then it always says login incorrect. My suspicion is that it's somehow not interacting properly with NIS and/or shadow passwords. Telnet works just fine, so I would have thought that ftp would work as well...
