I run a fairly straight forward Debian 2.0 box, configured as a gateway between a cable modem (eth0) and a small lan (eth1). I have installed dhcp server on eth1, so I can use my office laptop on the lan without having to change half a dozen Win95 settings on the laptop. This all used to work nicely, until just yesterday my laptop no longer received its ip number. My daemon starts up nicely (from /var/log/daemon):

I did do a reboot since it last worked, but can not think of a reason for that stopping the job. The 'Network is unreachable' indicates cable problems, maybe. But is I do change the laptop to using a fixed ip, all works well. There is communication going on anyway, the log file shows. I am lost, if someone has any idea where to go and exploit, I will be grateful. Best regards, Erik van der Meulen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> CMG Bedrijfsinformatiesystemen B.V.
