Totally wild, off-the-wall idea: Does her 'user' own all the Xwin config files in her home dir? I've gotten into trouble with other programs because, as root, I would copy a files(s) to my normal user's home, but forget to make sure the files were owned by my normal user. FWIW. -- Ed C.
