I've now tried it again with a completely different set of slink disks with the same results "problem extracting Base System from /target/base2_1.tgz"
Is it possible that it doesn't have enough swap space to extract? I created a 50 meg swap file during setup. Maybe this doesn't apply. I'm not sure.
