Maybe people like the RH install because they are familar with a Microsoft GUI install. They perceive that a GUI install screen must be superior to a text screen. I don't think trying to compete with redhat is going to achieve a lot. Redhat can throw money at the producing a nice looking install, whereas debian relies on volunteers. Surely it would be better to concentrate on an official SLINK release, more packages, etc ... If someone feels strongly that a GUI install is essential, do it yourself.
