Thanks everybody. The on and off-list suggestions have *all* been helpful. I learned something from each.
Now I have PERL, a Bible, and a game installed. I used dpkg. It's working no matter what I name the files. Now I know how to install some Linux documentation to use while I try the suggestions you gave about getting dselect to work. Great list! Keith
