The only clue I had was to read the manpage for tzconfig. It led me to look at /etc/timezone which contained 'EDT'. It also led me to see what /etc/localtime was pointing to, wonder of wonders, /usr/share/zoneinfo/EDT. As /usr/share/zoneinfo also contains a 'EST5EDT', I simply changed the link (/etc/localtime) from /usr/share/zoneinfo/EDT to /usr/share/zoneinfo/EDT5EST and changed /etc/timeone to EDT5EST, and it fixed the time. I just wonder how I had it set worng in the first place. isn't Linux something! All the information to fix your problems built right in! HTH -- The Softwære said "Windows 95 or better", so I dumped Win95 & loaded LINUX. I have not looked back since. _______________________________________________________ Wayne T.
