I'm trying to recompile the glibc2 Debian package with pgcc, hopefully to squeeze out a bit more performance.
I downloaded the *.orig.tar.gz, *.dsc, and *.diff.gz files needed, then did a "dpkg-sourc -x glibc*.dsc" and everything unpacked okay. Before I modified anything at all, I tried to do a "debian/rules binary" (as root), but I get the following error: ... Applying glibc-2.0.7-with-headers patch... :make: *** No rule to make target `/usr/src/kernel-headers-2.0.36/include/linux/version.h', needed by `/home/garman/glibc-2.0.7.19981211/build-i386/config.status'. Stop. I don't know why it's looking for the 2.0.36 kernel headers. I'm running kernel 2.2.5. Also, I also tried a "debian/rules clean" and then tried to build the binary again, but the same error still comes up. Thanks for any help!
