Which, of course, suggests an alternative solution :-) ln -s /bin/sh /bin/sh^M (Which wouldn't work very well unless you made /bin/sh^M a somewhat hacked shell that handles DOS line ends; perhaps bash could do that automatically when invoked as bash^M.)
