Most systems these days use IDE cdroms, either as the slave to the hard disk, or as a master on the second ide interface. In the first case the device would be /dev/hdb, in the second /dev/hdc. Your primary hard disk is /dev/hda (but you must have found this out already in order to partition the disk for linux!) If you have a scsi cd rom then the device is /dev/scd0.
Deslect will also ask you where all the various parts of the dist are on the cd that it cannot find for itself. Just say 'none' here and you will be ok. For the first time install don't even try to select packages, deselet has already picked the usuall ones for you, just hit return a few times, sit back and relax! Then read the deslect manual to figure out how to add other packages (such as X). === Amateur Radio, when all else fails! http://www.qsl.net/wa2mze Debian Gnu Linux, Live Free or ..... _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
