Laurent and Steve, Thanks for the info. I just re-installed Linux and found that the second disk wasn't needed for the dial-up profile that I selected. Of course if I had read the documentation more carefully I would have realized that you need to switch disks and then re-execute the "install" step of dselect. So it all worked as it should.
I picked Debian over the other distributions because the non-commercial aspect appealed to me. But I realize that it's the Debian community of users that make it the best choice! Without the support of other users the installation process would have been so frustrating! Thanks, Peter Christensen
