hello, since some weeks i have lost the usage of the pcmcia modem... it coincides with the upgrade to potato.....
i rebuild a kernel (2.2.10 with the serial patch preconized by pcmcia package due to a bug in the kernel code), but nothing helps, i can't get access to the modem, trying with kermit i get the error Sorry, can't open connection: /dev/ttyS3 when trying to set the line on it..... now when booting i see hte messagte 'cannot get serial info: inapropriated ioctl for device' somewhere near the serial section (i have to read this fast, since i am for some reason unable to scroll back on the init-console, and due to the fact that this damn message doesn't appear in dmesg....) so any clue is welcome.... -- ciao bboett ============================================================== [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://inforezo.u-strasbg.fr/~bboett http://erm1.u-strasbg.fr/~bboett =============================================================== the total amount of intelligence on earth is constant. human population is growing....
