There is such program, it's even in a Debian package. Don't remember the name though :( It was contained in a package whose main program was a program to "make holes" in files, thus non-destructively gaining space on HD. Ah! the name was "perforate" It contains 2 scripts that gather info about progs/libs and say which are unneeded.
