I've been hitting the same recurring problem, Kent. The way that I've found (under potato-debian with smbfs 2.0.5a) is to use 'umount', NOT 'smbumount', to clear the mount point. Then smbmount works. Jim Russell Crypto Engineer LockStar, Inc.
