The file /usr/sbin/update-rc.d is in the dpkg package, i'm not sure why you don't have it... Edit /var/lib/dpkg/info/libc6.postinst to comment out the line that calls update-rc.d, do it manually (e.g. symlink /etc/rcS.d/S35devpts.sh to ../init.d/devpts.sh), and try resuming the install. - -- finger for PGP public key. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.6.3ia Charset: noconv iQCVAwUBN9au4L7M/9WKZLW5AQGHPwP/UFiHn9n7FYWUGrozN+IufrvvJR3f2HHd hf+3kPTwP880FaGfxllI4EQ38OOJtRj3IMa6xGGlK8ymZqRodZbJ57uaML8W5sRV ZcIfDKxi6FapuNgMqmNuNrxbTeVr0k1GlmdPjeRYikYmjTckTF0NSaeg5BB3yx79 g1weckUgKrE= =Tbly -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
