Umm, this will certainly work (except note it's X11R6 not X1R6) but it's a bit out of accord with the Debian Way (TM). Binaries that aren't part of the distribution should be put in the /usr/local directory tree somewhere, eg., /usr/local/X11R6/bin. It's probably a bit nitpicky, but after a while you'll find your system almost unmanageable if you don't stick to this procedure. Gary
