In your configuration file, (e.g srm.conf) you may ensure the following
apache directives as set up correctly
DocumentRoot  (specify the path where the sever to find index.html)
DirectoryIndex  (specify the file name you want the server to look for,
index.html in your case but you could use different file name if you want)
