I rebooted my dialout server two weeks ago to install a new hard drive and I've been having trouble with pppd/diald ever since. Specifically, it doesn't add a deafult route through the ppp link when it goes up. Updating to the latest versions of both has not helped any. (I initially suspected diald of being the problem, but while doing the update yesterday, I had to use pon/poff for a bit and experienced the same problem.)
It works fine if, after the link goes up, I manually route add default gw w.x.y.z but this route only gets added automatically about 20% of the time.
