I had some odd behavior after installing a 2.2.x kernel on my slink machine.
I investigated installing the potato packages that were recommended for the
new kernel version, but decided that a the benefits of the 2.2.x kernels over
2.0.x kernels were not worth the trouble. As to upgrading that Hamm machine,
I would reccomend upgrading to Slink, then wait a few weeks before you decide
you need Potato. Potato may be frozen, but the bugs are not quite all
squashed. Follow the debian-devel list until you are sure that the upgrade
difficulties that some developers are expiriencing are problems you can deal
with.
